We are all insane

If I think about it, I quickly begin to believe that we are all insane. It amazes me how so many of us can wake up and make it through the entire day without killing ourselves. We are basically controlled by drives and instincts that are out of our control, except for those with great willpower. For the most part we are just chasing material goods, distractions and the opposite sex. How do we make it alive day in and day out? It’s a miracle that we are still blinking at the end of the day.

When I end up staying out late, past 1:30 am, it never ceases to amaze me to see people riding bikes and walking the streets. What the heck are you doing riding a bike past 1:30 am? We are all insane. What are you doing rolling a luggage bag at 1:30 am? These are things I’ve seen that make me think we are all insane.

I’ve seen a mother and daughter in a car, next to me, at the red light. What are they doing out at 2 am? I understand a car full of friends, but a mother and daughter? On my commute home from work, I see people texting and looking at their phones all the time. I’ve even seen people rear end each other. I can’t help but laugh every time. I’ve even seen more thanĀ 5 people begin to smoke weed in their car while in traffic. Really, how do we manage to survive each day like this? We should all be members of the Suicide Squad.

I regularly see groups of guys hanging out in front of the liquor store, day in and day out, right by my house. These guys must be insane. I’ve seen homeless people laughing to themselves at 3 am, tucked right next to a bush, drinking their favorite alcohol. How did he even make it this far?

We are all truly insane. How we make it to the end of the day is nothing short of a miracle. Next time you are out and about, pay attention to your surroundings and you will quickly find yourself questioning the mental health of your fellow humans. After doing this for a few days you will find yourself amazed, at the fact, that you are still alive.
